German 183: The Horror Film

Study of the horror film genre and the reasons for its popularity, including new interest in psychoanalysis and reaction to modern mass society and consumerism. Covers issues of sacrifice, simulated catastrophic loss, and other themes of catharsis.German 197: Senior Honors Project
