There is an exchange program with the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes
and with the Freie Universität Berlin. Students are also encouraged to
apply for the various Fulbright fellowships that accommodate graduate
student travel and study abroad. In the recent past several of the department's
graduate students have received one-year Fulbright fellowships enabling them to do archival
research in Europe.
