COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course practices all four basic language skills –listening comprehension, speaking, reading writing– on an advanced level, while thematically focusing on "The other Germany: On the margin of German culture and society." We will concentrate on grammatical material that is particularly troublesome for English-speaking learners of German and on vocabulary building. New skills are applied orally (in-class discussions and conversation), as well as in written work (regular compositions that are thoroughly analyzed, corrected, and revised). (Taught in German.)
