GERMAN PLACEMENT EXAM:
Administered in the department main office:
Phelps 4206, Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-Noon & 1:00-4:00PM

You are allowed 40 minutes to answer 60 multiple choice questions. There are two exam choices:

Exam A:
For those with experience comparable to 1-2 years of high school German.
Score:             Placement:
0-25                 German 1
26-40               German 2
41-60               German 3 or 4

Exam B:
Advanced, for those with experience comparable to 3-4 years of high school German.
Score:             Placement:
0-15                 German 3
16-30               German 4
31-45               German 5
46-60               German 6 or 101

RUSSIAN PLACEMENT EXAM:
There are 2 parts: an untimed written exam administered in the department main office and a verbal exam done by appointment.
