We regret that we will not be able to give you original Hesse texts on the internet because their copyright protection will not expire until 2032. We will be able, however, to display by permission some translations of commercially unavailable texts the copyright of which rests primarily and originally with Suhrkamp Verlag and the individual translators. HHP is neither liable for factual information like dates, prices, and availability, nor is it responsible for the art work on the book covers.
For more specific information as to the availability of Hesse's writings in German and in English translation check under the main menu item Bookdealers. Companies like Amazon.com and Barnesand Noble.com give online listings of available Hesse books with current price quotes and sometimes with reader comments. Often a search for used copies is possible. Online booksellers do accept on-line orders and generally ship very fast.
For questions regarding Hesse's writings, you may want to consider subscribing to the HESSE-L(ist) which is based at UC Santa Barbara. The list has between 175 and 200 members from all over the world. Many of these are experts on various aspects of Hesse's writing and generally are very willing to help you, as is the spirit of the internet. To subscribe, send the message: "subscribe HESSE-L Your name" to the UCSB Listserver. It is just as simple to "unsubscribe". If you have problems subscribing or unsubscribing, send email to the List Owner. As of January 2000, the list is conducting a group reading of The Glass Bead Game.
